Now before we go any further let me introduce myself. My name is Katherine Parris and I have moved to Brittany,

France with my husband to "live the dream". This dream has sometimes turned into a nightmare but on the whole it is a joy to wake up each morning to the sound of our cockerel, eat eggs for breakfast laid by our own hens along with bacon from our own pigs. I can paint a glossy picture of our Farmhouse which is now open to guests as a pet friendly B&B set in a historic bronze age site with fields and open countryside surrounding us. However, we have taken on the project (by choice I keep reminding myself) of renovating all the barns and outbuildings to provide further accommodation for the future; it is at this point that the dream sometimes turns into the nightmare as we have to deal with planning permissions, local builders merchants, tradespeople and all in a foreign language. "but it's your choice" I hear you cry, and yes you are perfectly right, it is our choice and a choice we never regret. And if you want to know more about our life renovating and integrating into a new community then pop back regularly for updates. We'll post pictures and updates so you can catch up with how we have got to where we are now, and also join us on our journey as we attempt to put life back into the tiny hamlet of Kerivoa.

I'll take a moment to introduce you to the members of our family, there is John and myself, our West Highland Terrier called Kerig, our rescued black cat called Fi-Fi (although she turned out to be a he), 5 pigs, 9 hens and a confused cockerel.
